Gelu Ticala is announced as Chief Technology Officer, Kinaxis.Innovation is at the heart of what we do. We have been revolutionizing supply chain management for decades⏤from launching an in-memory planning engine, cutting run times for material requirements planning (MRP) from days to minutes in 1986, to adopting a SaaS model years before its peers⏤and that drive for creating and delivering more for our customers has never gone away. Today, over 50 percent of our patent portfolio is for AI and ML-based innovations. Not to mention, we have been named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Supply Chain Planning Solutions for 10 consecutive years, most recently positioned highest on Ability to Execute in 2024.

Product Celebration Day

Even though it has only been three months since we introduced the world to Maestro, the world's first AI-infused end-to-end supply chain orchestration platform, innovation continues at a rapid pace . Today, our employees all around the world are celebrating the achievements in innovation and the collaborative culture we have cultivated as a company that values creativity, teamwork, and big ideas. With internal events happening at Kinaxis offices in Ottawa, Toronto, Dallas, Rotterdam, and Chennai, as well as virtual demos and a town hall from our amazing product team, we’re using today to look back on all the greatness we have recently achieved and to get excited about all that is to come.

Solutions worth celebrating

Our goal with any new feature or investment is always to bring significant value to our customers, their people, and the planet⏤without a direct and positive impact, there isn’t anything to really celebrate.

Our user interface with embedded generative AI is now helping over 100 of our customers streamline their access to information and solve problems with ease. Digital workers are struggling to find the information needed to effectively perform their jobs. The Maestro chat agent  is a straightforward way for customers to ask how to use Maestro in their own words and language, and receive answers compiled from a variety of sources of information, including manuals and Kinaxis Knowledge Network articles.

Supply chain orchestration brings all aspects of the supply chain together, including planning, scheduling, and execution. Kinaxis has continued developing ground-breaking innovations in all of these areas individually, and has brought them together under one common platform, Maestro, providing improved decision-making, agility, and transparency.

We are also celebrating a key milestone of our data fabric project. This is a revolutionary approach to bring all data across the entire supply chain under one platform to ensure a single source of truth⏤regardless of where in the company’s supply chain the data is coming from. The data fabric pipelines, leveraging a new integration tooling , enable faster and easier connections with additional sources to bring more data into Maestro.

The additional data is critical to the improved AI-based fusion, a combination of advanced techniques and technology, including heuristics, optimization, and machine learning, offered by our products, such as Demand.AI which are developed to solve the most complicated customer challenges. The ever-expanding success of our major go-live customers is driving some of the world’s most well-known companies and industries to make an impact on people every day of their lives.

Speaking of making an impact on the daily lives of people, our sustainable supply chain has been successfully deployed to customer sites. As John Sicard likes to say, “Just by its very nature, supply chains are consumers of the earth’s natural resources, so anything we can do to improve the supply chain is ultimately in service of humanity and Mother Earth.” Having Kinaxis solutions enabling data-driven decisions to look at both the environment and social aspect of economics makes the world a better place.

We are so excited to be able to share the new capabilities available now for authors in the web client. This makes it easier for users to create robust resources that will transform their team’s daily lives without requiring prior authoring experience.

The leaders paving the way for what’s next

It is also important for us to take the time to celebrate the people that make innovation at Kinaxis possible. We’ve got an amazing team of gifted innovators, including our very own Gelu Ticala, who, after over 20 years of driving innovation as a leader in the Engineering Team at Kinaxis, will be stepping into his new role as Chief Technology Officer to help spearhead future developments of our product and help to keep Maestro as the leading solution for supply chain orchestration.

It will be a privilege to see the innovation that comes from our incredibly talented engineering team under Gelu’s guidance and leadership.
