Internships are more than just a stepping stone—they're an opportunity to learn, grow, and sometimes, find a long-term home. That’s exactly what happened for Anita Kis, who started as a consultancy intern at Kinaxis and is now a full-time delivery consultant in our Professional Services team in Romania.

In this Q&A, Anita shares her experience navigating the transition from intern to full-time employee, the skills she gained along the way, and her advice for future interns looking to make the most of their time at Kinaxis.

How would you describe the culture at Kinaxis?

The culture at Kinaxis is inclusive, collaborative, and supportive. Everyone is approachable and eager to share their knowledge, creating a welcoming environment where interns feel valued and encouraged to contribute.

What have you learned in your time at Kinaxis?

During my six-month internship as a consultancy intern, I gained insights into supply chain management and its role in solving business challenges. I developed skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and strategic thinking, along with effectively communicating insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What are some of the highlights in your experience at Kinaxis?

One of the biggest highlights was successfully completing three Maestro certifications, including achieving Administrator Level 1 by the end of my internship. Another major milestone was receiving an offer to join Kinaxis as a full-time delivery consultant, which was a proud moment and a testament to the growth and learning I experienced during my time here.

What are some of the projects that you have worked on during your placement?

During my internship, I didn’t work on a specific project. However, after transitioning to a full-time delivery consultant role, I’ve started shadowing on a project, which is incredibly rewarding. Working with real clients and data, collaborating with a team, and contributing to meaningful outcomes is an amazing experience.

What advice would you give to an incoming Co-Op/Intern?

Be proactive and take ownership of your work. Don’t hesitate to ask questions, everyone is more than willing to help. Take advantage of the learning resources available and participate in any group meetings or get-togethers.
