With supply chains experiencing unprecedented strain from continuous business challenges, Gartner release of its latest comprehensive research has never been more critical for the supply chain community. Many leaders I’ve spoken to have a mandate to invest in a new digital planning foundation to build agility and resilience in 2022.
We’re thrilled to share that the new 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Supply Chain Planning Solutions has recognized Kinaxis as a Leader for the eighth consecutive time1 and positioned us furthest on completeness of vision2. In our opinion, this wouldn’t have been possible without the support and accomplishments of our customers. We’re proud that leading companies across industries, including Unilever, Merck and Ford have placed their trust in us to provide end-to-end planning that’s agile, secure and responsive – and most importantly delivers value to their supply chains.
For companies just starting their transformation journeys, boards are now asking for regular updates and leaders are looking for the best way to transform their supply chain while taking into account the cost, team impact and length of deployment. That’s why Kinaxis invented a unique solution that can alleviate those worries and provide a complete foundation for concurrent planning, including demand and supply, inventory and control tower. By combining Kinaxis Planning One™ with our tailorable RapidStart implementation approach, we can get companies of any size in-production (not a pilot) with advanced planning in less than 12 weeks.
How Gartner evaluates supply chain planning solutions
According to Gartner, a supply chain planning (SCP) solution is “a platform that provides technology support which allows a company to manage, link, align, collaborate and share its planning data across an extended supply chain. It supports demand creation through to the detailed supply-side response and from strategic planning through execution-level planning. An SCP solution is the planning decision repository for a defined end-to-end supply chain and is the environment in which end-to-end integrated supply chains are managed. It establishes a single version of the truth for the plan data and decisions, regardless of the underlying execution technology environment.”2
The foundational capabilities of the SCP solution are:
- Demand planning (e.g., demand forecasting and consensus demand planning)
- Supply planning (e.g., inventory planning, replenishment planning, order promising, production planning, production scheduling)
- Support for aligning planning decisions across the enterprise and across multiple planning time horizons
- Support for financial impact analysis and planning
The optional capabilities of an SCP solution are:
- Advanced analytics and AI
- Digital supply chain twin
- Integrated business planning
- Continuous planning
- Supply chain segmentation
The report evaluated a total of 22 vendors, and Kinaxis was recognized for its ability to execute and completeness of vision in the Leaders’ Quadrant.
