Internships serve as pivotal stepping stones in a young professional's early career, offering a chance to experience the corporate world before starting to work as a full-time employee while being able to practice their academic learnings in a real-life work environment.

At Kinaxis, interns are not just participants; they are valued contributors in a dynamic, people-first culture.

We would like to introduce Reina Hara, who participated in the Associate Consultant Internship at the Tokyo Office this summer. From learning the intricacies of supply chain dynamics to engaging in collaborative projects, this intern's experience showcases the transformative power of a supportive workplace where curiosity and teamwork thrive.

Reina has participated in the Associate Consultant Internship of Summer 2024 and will be joining Kinaxis as a full-time employee in the Summer of 2025.

How would you describe the culture at Kinaxis?

The culture at Kinaxis is truly people-first. Everyone I met at Kinaxis was welcoming, approachable, and eager to help. It’s an environment that values collaboration and knowledge-sharing, where people support each other’s growth and success, no matter your age or role. As an intern, I felt encouraged to contribute and share my thoughts and ideas.

What have you learned in your time at Kinaxis?

As an Associate Consultant Intern, I learned about supply chain management and the key role it plays in solving complex business problems. I learned about the technical side of supply chain solutions but also about the strategic thinking required in consulting. This experience has helped me build practical skills in data analysis and problem-solving, as well as how to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What are some of the highlights of your experience at Kinaxis?

One of the highlights of my internship was working on the intern mini-project. I worked with other interns and used Maestro to analyze data and make strategic supply chain decisions. I also took advantage of the Kinaxis Learning Center and obtained the Certified RapidResponse Contributor Level 1 exam, giving me a deeper understanding of Maestro which helped when working on the mini-project.

What advice would you give to an incoming Co-Ops/Interns?

Don't be afraid to ask questions! Be curious and ask as many questions. The team at Kinaxis is always more than happy to help you. There's so much you can learn by just asking a simple question.
